| | 40:1 | 〔大衛的詩、交與伶長。〕我曾耐性等候耶和華．他垂聽我的呼求。 | I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. |
| | 40:2 | 他從禍坑裏、從淤泥中、把我拉上來、使我的腳立在磐石上、使我腳步穩當。 | He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. |
| | 40:3 | 他使我口唱新歌、就是讚美我們 神的話．許多人必看見而懼怕、並要倚靠耶和華。 | And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD. |
| | 40:4 | 那倚靠耶和華、不理會狂傲和偏向虛假之輩的、這人便為有福。 | Blessed is that man that maketh the LORD his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies. |
| | 40:5 | 耶和華我的 神阿、你所行的奇事、並你向我們所懷的意念甚多、不能向你陳明．若要陳明、其事不可勝數。 | Many, O LORD my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered. |
| | 40:6 | 祭物和禮物、你不喜悅．你已經開通我的耳朵．燔祭和贖罪祭、非你所要。 | Sacrifice and offering thou didst not desire; mine ears hast thou opened: burnt offering and sin offering hast thou not required. |
| | 40:7 | 那時我說、看哪、我來了．我的事在經卷上已經記載了。 | Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me, |
| | 40:8 | 我的 神阿、我樂意照你的旨意行．你的律法在我心裏。 | I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart. |
| | 40:9 | 我在大會中宣傳公義的佳音．我必不止住我的嘴唇．耶和華阿、這是你所知道的。 | I have preached righteousness in the great congregation: lo, I have not refrained my lips, O LORD, thou knowest. |
| | 40:10 | 我未曾把你的公義藏在心裏．我已陳明你的信實、和你的救恩．我在大會中未曾隱瞞你的慈愛、和誠實。 | I have not hid thy righteousness within my heart; I have declared thy faithfulness and thy salvation: I have not concealed thy lovingkindness and thy truth from the great congregation. |
| | 40:11 | 耶和華阿、求你不要向我止住你的慈悲．願你的慈愛和誠實、常常保佑我。 | Withhold not thou thy tender mercies from me, O LORD: let thy lovingkindness and thy truth continually preserve me. |
| | 40:12 | 因有無數的禍患圍困我．我的罪孽追上了我、使我不能昂首．這罪孽比我的頭髮還多．我就心寒膽戰。 | For innumerable evils have compassed me about: mine iniquities have taken hold upon me, so that I am not able to look up; they are more than the hairs of mine head: therefore my heart faileth me. |
| | 40:13 | 耶和華阿、求你開恩搭救我．耶和華阿、求你速速幫助我。 | Be pleased, O LORD, to deliver me: O LORD, make haste to help me. |
| | 40:14 | 願那些尋找我、要滅我命的、一同抱愧蒙羞．願那些喜悅我受害的、退後受辱。 | Let them be ashamed and confounded together that seek after my soul to destroy it; let them be driven backward and put to shame that wish me evil. |
| | 40:15 | 願那些對我說、阿哈、阿哈的、因羞愧而敗亡。 | Let them be desolate for a reward of their shame that say unto me, Aha, aha. |
| | 40:16 | 願一切尋求你的、因你高興歡喜．願那些喜愛你救恩的、常說、當尊耶和華為大。 | Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee: let such as love thy salvation say continually, The LORD be magnified. |
| | 40:17 | 但我是困苦窮乏的、主仍顧念我．你是幫助我的、搭救我的． 神阿、求你不要耽延。 | But I am poor and needy; yet the Lord thinketh upon me: thou art my help and my deliverer; make no tarrying, O my God. |
