| | 6:2 | 十二使徒叫眾門徒來、對他們說、我們撇下 神的道、去管理飯食、原是不合宜的。 | Then the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them, and said, It is not reason that we should leave the word of God, and serve tables. |
| | 6:3 | 所以弟兄們、當從你們中間選出七個有好名聲、被聖靈充滿、智慧充足的人、我們就派他們管理這事。 | Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business. |
| | 6:4 | 但我們要專心以祈禱傳道為事。 | But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word. |
| | 6:5 | 大眾都喜悅這話、就揀選了司提反、乃是大有信心、聖靈充滿的人、又揀選腓利、伯羅哥羅、尼迦挪、提門、巴米拿、並進猶太教的安提阿人尼哥拉． | And the saying pleased the whole multitude: and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Ghost, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolas a proselyte of Antioch: |
| | 6:6 | 叫他們站在使徒面前．使徒禱告了、就按手在他們頭上。 | Whom they set before the apostles: and when they had prayed, they laid their hands on them. |
| | 6:7 | 神的道興旺起來．在耶路撒冷門徒數目加增的甚多．也有許多祭司信從了這道。 | And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith. |
| | 6:8 | 司提反滿得恩惠能力、在民間行了大奇事和神蹟。 | And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people. |
| | 6:9 | 當時有稱利百地拿會堂的幾個人、並有古利奈、亞力山太、基利家、亞西亞、各處會堂的幾個人、都起來、和司提反辯論。 | Then there arose certain of the synagogue, which is called the synagogue of the Libertines, and Cyrenians, and Alexandrians, and of them of Cilicia and of Asia, disputing with Stephen. |
| | 6:10 | 司提反是以智慧和聖靈說話、眾人敵擋不住． | And they were not able to resist the wisdom and the spirit by which he spake. |
| | 6:11 | 就買出人來說、我們聽見他說謗讟摩西、和 神的話。 | Then they suborned men, which said, We have heard him speak blasphemous words against Moses, and against God. |
| | 6:12 | 他們又聳動了百姓、長老、並文士、就忽然來捉拿他、把他帶到公會去、 | And they stirred up the people, and the elders, and the scribes, and came upon him, and caught him, and brought him to the council, |
| | 6:13 | 設下假見證說、這個人說話、不住的蹧踐聖所和律法． | And set up false witnesses, which said, This man ceaseth not to speak blasphemous words against this holy place, and the law: |
| | 6:14 | 我們曾聽見他說、這拿撒勒人耶穌、要毀壞此地、也要改變摩西所交給我們的規條。 | For we have heard him say, that this Jesus of Nazareth shall destroy this place, and shall change the customs which Moses delivered us. |
| | 6:15 | 在公會裏坐着的人、都定睛看他、見他的面貌、好像天使的面貌。 | And all that sat in the council, looking stedfastly on him, saw his face as it had been the face of an angel. |
