| | 5:1 | 第三日、以斯帖穿上朝服、進王宮的內院、對殿站立．王在殿裏坐在寶座上、對着殿門． | Now it came to pass on the third day, that Esther put on her royal apparel, and stood in the inner court of the king's house, over against the king's house: and the king sat upon his royal throne in the royal house, over against the gate of the house. |
| | 5:2 | 王見王后以斯帖站在院內、就施恩於他、向他伸出手中的金杖．以斯帖便向前摸杖頭。 | And it was so, when the king saw Esther the queen standing in the court, that she obtained favour in his sight: and the king held out to Esther the golden sceptre that was in his hand. So Esther drew near, and touched the top of the sceptre. |
| | 5:3 | 王對他說、王后以斯帖阿、你要甚麼、你求甚麼．就是國的一半、也必賜給你。 | Then said the king unto her, What wilt thou, queen Esther? and what is thy request? it shall be even given thee to the half of the kingdom. |
| | 5:4 | 以斯帖說、王若以為美、就請王帶着哈曼今日赴我所預備的筵席。 | And Esther answered, If it seem good unto the king, let the king and Haman come this day unto the banquet that I have prepared for him. |
| | 5:5 | 王說、叫哈曼速速照以斯帖的話去行．於是王帶着哈曼赴以斯帖所預備的筵席． | Then the king said, Cause Haman to make haste, that he may do as Esther hath said. So the king and Haman came to the banquet that Esther had prepared. |
| | 5:6 | 在酒席筵前、王又問以斯帖說、你要甚麼、我必賜給你、你求甚麼、就是國的一半、也必為你成就。 | And the king said unto Esther at the banquet of wine, What is thy petition? and it shall be granted thee: and what is thy request? even to the half of the kingdom it shall be performed. |
| | 5:7 | 以斯帖回答說、我有所要、我有所求、 | Then answered Esther, and said, My petition and my request is; |
| | 5:8 | 我若在王眼前蒙恩、王若願意賜我所要的、准我所求的、就請王帶着哈曼再赴我所要預備的筵席．明日我必照王所問的說明。 | If I have found favour in the sight of the king, and if it please the king to grant my petition, and to perform my request, let the king and Haman come to the banquet that I shall prepare for them, and I will do to morrow as the king hath said. |
| | 5:9 | 那日哈曼心中快樂、歡歡喜喜地出來．但見末底改在朝門不站起來、連身也不動、就滿心惱怒末底改． | Then went Haman forth that day joyful and with a glad heart: but when Haman saw Mordecai in the king's gate, that he stood not up, nor moved for him, he was full of indignation against Mordecai. |
| | 5:10 | 哈曼暫且忍耐回家、叫人請他朋友和他妻子細利斯來。 | Nevertheless Haman refrained himself: and when he came home, he sent and called for his friends, and Zeresh his wife. |
| | 5:11 | 哈曼將他富厚的榮耀、眾多的兒女、和王抬舉他使他超乎首領臣僕之上、都述說給他們聽。 | And Haman told them of the glory of his riches, and the multitude of his children, and all the things wherein the king had promoted him, and how he had advanced him above the princes and servants of the king. |
| | 5:12 | 哈曼又說、王后以斯帖預備筵席、除了我之外不許別人隨王赴席．明日王后又請我隨王赴席． | Haman said moreover, Yea, Esther the queen did let no man come in with the king unto the banquet that she had prepared but myself; and to morrow am I invited unto her also with the king. |
| | 5:13 | 只是我見猶大人末底改坐在朝門、雖有這一切榮耀、也與我無益。 | Yet all this availeth me nothing, so long as I see Mordecai the Jew sitting at the king's gate. |
| | 5:14 | 他的妻細利斯和他一切的朋友對他說、不如立一個五丈高的木架、明早求王將末底改挂在其上、然後你可以歡歡喜喜地隨王赴席．哈曼以這話為美、就叫人作了木架。 | Then said Zeresh his wife and all his friends unto him, Let a gallows be made of fifty cubits high, and to morrow speak thou unto the king that Mordecai may be hanged thereon: then go thou in merrily with the king unto the banquet. And the thing pleased Haman; and he caused the gallows to be made. |
